THE TELEGRAPH AND THE RAILROADS EXHIBIT, PLANTATION, FL HISTORICAL MUSEUM

Florida Chapter members John and Robert Feeney prepared and installed this exhibit at the Pl;antation FL Historical Museum. The exhibit contains a Morse code generator which can be operated remotely to repeat the first public telegraph message, “What Hath God Wrought,” providing an opportunity for the docent to explain the history of Morse telegraphy and its connection to the development of railroads in the USA. Also included are various telegraph instruments, lineman’s tools, copies of train orders, and, of course, information about the Morse Telegraph Club.
