NOV 6-10, 2013 OCALI COUNTRY DAYS, SILVER RIVER STATE PARK, OCALA, FL
The Silver River Museum and Environmental Education Center, located within the Silver River State Park, at 1445 N.E. 58th Ave, Ocala, FL 34470, will once again be the site of the Ocali Country Days annual event. November 6-8 will be student days, with the weekend days, November 9-10, open to the general public. There will be a “Walk Through Time.”, with Living History exhibits ranging from prehistoric Florida to the Twentiety Century. There will also be a strong emphasis on the arrival of the Spanish in 1513, in recognition of the 500th Anniversary of the arrival of Europeans in Florida, Exhibits will include syrup-making, blacksmithing, barrel making, and other early crafts. NOV 23-24, 2013 100TH ANNIVERSARY, T&G DEPOT, WINTER GARDEN, FL
Florida Chapter members will be on hand to assist the Central Florida Railroad Museum in celebrating the 100th anniversary of the T&G Railroad depot, located at 101 South Boyd Street, Winter Garden, FL. Chapter members will display and demonstrate antique and replica telegraph instruments, similar to those which would have been in use when the depot was placed in service, 100 years ago.
